Instagram Integration
Let your AI chatbot automatically respond to Instagram Direct Messages and story mentions.
Requirements
- Pro plan or above
- An Instagram Business or Creator account
- A linked Facebook Page (required by Meta API)
- A Facebook Business Manager account
Setup Steps
- Navigate to Dashboard -> Settings -> Instagram Setup.
- Click Connect Instagram.
- Sign in with Facebook and grant the required permissions.
- Select your Instagram Business account.
- Conviro registers the webhook to receive DM events.
- Send a test DM to your Instagram account to confirm.

Limitations
- No outbound initiation -- you cannot message a user first; they must message you or interact with your content.
- 24-hour window -- responses must be sent within 24 hours of the user's last message.
- No carousel or template messages -- unlike WhatsApp, Instagram DM API does not support rich templates yet.
- Rate limits -- Meta enforces API rate limits; high-volume accounts should monitor for throttling.

- Add a "Send us a DM" CTA to your Instagram bio and stories to drive conversations.
- Use story mention auto-replies to engage with user-generated content.
- Tag Instagram contacts in your CRM for social-media-specific follow-up campaigns.
