Instagram to WhatsApp Bridge

When your assistant on Instagram asks a visitor for their phone number, the bridge adds a link to your WhatsApp number to that reply. Tapping it opens WhatsApp, so the visitor can write to you there instead of typing their number into the chat.

Why use it

• A WhatsApp-verified number -- the visitor writes to you from their own WhatsApp account, so the number you get is the one WhatsApp knows, not digits typed by hand.
• A fresh 24-hour window -- the visitor's message opens WhatsApp's 24-hour window, so you and your assistant can reply freely.
• You know where it came from -- Conviro records that the WhatsApp conversation started on Instagram.

Requirements

• Instagram and WhatsApp are both connected in the same workspace.
• The WhatsApp number you want to use has a display number.
• Only owners and admins can change the setting.

Turning it on or off

1. Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> WhatsApp Channel Setup.
2. Find the section Instagram → WhatsApp bridge.
3. Under WhatsApp number for the link, select the number the link should open. A number without a display number cannot be chosen.
4. To turn the bridge off, select Off.

The bridge stays off until a number is chosen.

What the visitor sees

When the assistant on Instagram asks the visitor for a phone number, Conviro adds a wa.me link to your WhatsApp number at the end of that reply. Tapping it opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled greeting that ends in a one-time code in brackets. In English it reads:

Hello, I'm coming from Instagram [IG-…]

The greeting follows the language of the assistant's reply. The code tells Conviro which Instagram conversation the visitor came from, and it is stripped from the message before it is stored.

When the link is not added

• The visitor's own message in that turn already contains a phone number.
• The bridge is off.

What is measured, and what is not

• Every link Conviro issues is recorded.
• A link counts as arrived when a WhatsApp message carries its code.
• A code is valid for 30 days and counts once.
• The bridge measures where a WhatsApp conversation came from. It never merges the Instagram contact and the WhatsApp contact.
