Message Limits & AI Response Capacity

Conviro shows two related usage meters: messages and AI response capacity. They measure different things, so their percentages do not always rise at the same speed.

Messages

A message records how many assistant replies your workspace processes during the billing period. A short answer and a long answer each count as one message.

Your plan includes a monthly message volume. Test conversations and live customer conversations can both contribute to usage when the assistant generates a reply.

AI response capacity

AI response capacity measures the processing used to create those replies. It can be consumed faster by:

  • long conversations with more history;
  • large or numerous knowledge-base references;
  • richer context and tool use;
  • advanced AI modes and more complex questions.

This is why 40% of your messages can use more or less than 40% of your AI capacity.

Where to check usage

Open Dashboard -> Settings -> Billing. The usage area shows the current billing period, included volume, consumed messages, AI response capacity, and any plan-specific billing information.

What happens near a limit?

Conviro warns workspace owners as usage approaches a limit. To preserve availability, the platform can optimize replies with Fast mode when AI capacity becomes high.

  • Free and Starter: AI replies pause when the enforced monthly limit is reached and resume when the next billing period starts, unless you upgrade first.
  • Pro and Growth: service can continue in Fast mode beyond included usage; the Billing page shows current usage and any applicable charges.
  • Enterprise: limits and capacity are governed by the workspace agreement and any configured BYOK setup.

Human agents can still work in the Live Inbox when automated AI replies are paused.

How to reduce unnecessary usage

  • Keep knowledge sources current and remove duplicates.
  • Use clear, focused instructions instead of one very long prompt.
  • Use flows for deterministic tasks that do not need a generated answer.
  • Archive test bots and channels you no longer use.
  • Review usage before campaigns or seasonal traffic spikes.

> Tip: If usage grows unexpectedly, compare the busiest assistants and channels in Analytics before changing your plan.
